4 days - 3 night

Day 1 - Arrive Puerto Madryn
You will be met & transferred from Puerto Madryn or Trelew airport to your Puerto Madryn hotel. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 2 - The Valdes Peninsula
(B) After breakfast our guide will pick you up from the hotel to head north towards the Isthmus of Carlos Ameghino, where we will visit the Centro de Interpretacion which is located near the entrance to the protected area. Here, you will receive a detailed explanation of the areas you are about to visit.

Continue towards a lookout point where you will be able to see the New Gulf, the San Jose Gulf & Bird Island. Arriving to Puerto Piramide, you will board small boats to go whale watching (from may to December)or out of whale season, to observe the many marine species of mammals & seabirds.

We will return to the coast & drive to Punta Delgada where you will be able to go by foot to observe sea elephants most of whom weight more than 300 kilograms. Looking towards the Atlantic, the prominent Caleta Valdes is visable. We will briefly walk around this area before returning to Puerto Madryn in the late afternoon.

Day 3 - Punta Tombo
(B) Today we will head south to visit one of the most amazing penguin colonies. Traveling 180 km south of Puerto Madryn, arrive to Punta Tombo which surprises most visitors as the sight of hundreds of thousands of penguins that are everywhere you look, going to & from their nests or running after their offspring seems to resemble a vast formal banquet hall filled with tuxedoed party goers. This penguin colony is the largest known continental reserve of Magallen penguins.

It is essential that visitors respect marked pathways & do not walk outside of them. You will be able to see how the offspring, once grown (close to February), swim close to their mothers in the lagoons that form on the beach while the tide is going down.

After this spectacular visit, you will travel to Gaiman, which is a long established Welsh settlers colony that preserves its traditions & architecture. You will then have some spare time to enjoy a traditional tea & delicious welsh cake, before returning back to Puerto Madryn.
