The M/V Terra Australis sails on Saturdays from Punta
Arenas in Chiles far south, through the Straits of Magellan
& the Beagle Channel to arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina
on Wednesday mornings.
This is a nature lovers experience that provides the
best & safest way to see the wonders of this rugged
coastline. On board, you will be a part of lectures
provided to enhance your knowledge of the glaciers,
flora, fauna, bird & mammal species that you are likely
to encounter & you will also visit the most southerly
city on the planet - Puerto Williams - on this 5 day
/ 4 night adventure.
Day 1 Punta Arenas, Chile
( D) The M/V Terra Australis draws anchor & departs
Punta Arenas at 8.00pm Saturday evening heading on out
into the Straits of Magellan & directly toward Tierra
del Fuego. Dinner will be served aboard.
Day 2 Cruising
( B,L,D) Steady progress is made to the Hyatt & Keats
Sounds, then it is onto the Videla Glacier. Latter you
will visit the D'Agostino Glacier before settling in
for the evening.
Day 3 & 4 Cruising
( B,L,D) The Beagle Channel is navigated & enroute,
you will see some impressive glaciers : Italia, Francia,
Espana, Holanda, Alemania & Romanche all draw their
names from European heritage & the daring sailors
of those nationalities from times gone by. In the mid-afternoon,
the vessel docks at Puerto Williams - the worlds southern
most city - located on the northern shores of Navarino
Island. Here, you have the option to take a spectacular
flight over the legendary & infamous Cape Horn, visit
the Martin Gusinde Museum or the Lagoon of Castores.

in Ushuaia. This is the gateway to a plethora of outdoor
activities & pursuits & despite its southern latitudes,
they go on year round. Along with hiking trails, endless
4 x 4 terrain, mountain biking, parapont & water based
activities in summer, Ushuaia has recently developed
a magnificent new International Ski Area to compliment
the array of snow activities it already boasted : cross
country skiing, skidoos, dog sledding & snow-hiking.
We recommend your consideration of at least two overnights

the richer in experience for doing so.
