days - 1 nights
A visual delight as you navigate from
Chile, through the Andes across Lake Todos Los Santos,
Lake Frias & a cruise to Puerto Panuelo. The journey
takes you past the volcanic cones of Calbuco & Osorno
& the lofty peaks of Tronador, Puntiagudo & the
Catedral mountains.
This trip operates year round & can be taken from
the Chilean or the Argentine starting points in either
direction. Departures are on Mondays or Fridays.
Day 1 Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas, Chile to Peulla
(D) Start at 0830am from either Puerto Montt or Puerto
Varas initially by road, headed for Ensenada on the
edge of Lake Llanquihue. When you arrive at Petrohue
which is on the shore of Lake Todos Los Santos, you
will board the vessel for the crossing. Once on the
other side at Peulla your hotel accommodation is awaiting
in this small but quaint village in the mountains. Dinner
is included.
Day 2 Peulla - San Carlos de Bariloche
(B) After breakfast, depart by road to Puerto Frias
where a powered catamaran awaits to cruise across Lake
Frias to Puerto Alegre. Once here, a bus will take you
to Puerto Blest where another powered catamaran will
transport you across to Puerto Panuelo. From here it
is but a short drive to San Carlos de Bariloche, passing
Lake Nahuel Huapi on the way. Much of this day is spent
in & amongst towering peaks, heavily forested mountainsides
& deep valleys carved by ice, water & erosive forces
of nature over centuries.
