4 days - 3 nights

Rio is considered to be amongst the most beautiful cities in the world. Indeed, nature has sculptured a classic backdrop of mountains & 20 miles of shoreline into which Rio de Janeiro has expanded & expanded until there is little more room in which to expand.

Set amongst towering rock bastions covered to their base with thick dense foliage, the city has three distinct parts. The old city, the beaches of Copacabana & Ipanema & the new & fast expanding Barre de te Tijuca.

Rio is served by a modern International airport & two regional airports into which domestic flights operate. It has a good city transit bus system & taxis are plentiful, although their drivers have reputations of competing for places in F1 Grand Prix teams.

Rio by day or Rio by night, this city is alive & pulsing.


Day 1. Rio de Janeiro
On your arrival to Rio you will be met & transferred to your hotel accommodation. The remainder of this day is at leisure for you to acquaint yourself with your surroundings.

Day 2. Rio de Janeiro
( B) After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel to commence with a half day sightseeing excursion culminating in the birds eye views from high above the city.

You'll visit Tijuca Forest, past the Lagoon district, to where the cog wheeled train that takes visitors the 2200 feet up to the top of Corcovado Mountain where the dominant statue of Christ the Redeemer stands at the pinnacle. On a clear day from here the 360 degree panoramic views of mountains, the city, the beaches & the azure ocean is spectacular.

The afternoon is yours at leisure.


Day 3. Rio de Janeiro

(B) After breakfast you will be picked up for a mornings sightseeing highlights of the city of Rio. The excursion begins with a ride along world famous Copacabana & Ipanema beaches, circling the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon & continuing to the 'Maracana'. Visit the city center, Flamengo Park & the memorial to WWII.
The finale this morning is a ride up Sugar Loaf mountain in the aerial cable-car 395 metres above the city offering spectacular views of Guanabara Bay.
The afternoon is yours at leisure.

Day 4. Rio de Janeiro
(B) After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

Optional highlight evening

You may wish to include " Rio by night " dinner & Samba show on one of the evenings you are in the city. So as not to be disappointed, we strongly recommend this be pre-booked as there is a significant demand which more often than not, outweighs availability.

Departing at approximately 7.30pm you will be picked up from your hotel & start the evening at one of Rio's superb BBQ restaurants, known locally as a churrascaria, serving a wide variety & cuts of meat, fresh salads & vegetables, accompanied by a selection of deserts.

The dinner is followed by what is heralded as Rio's best Samba show - beautiful dazzling mulatto girls in glamorous outfits, swaying & pulsing to the wild beat of drums & Samba.

At the conclusion of the show, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
