Day 1 - Arrive Nairobi, Kenya

It is necessary to arrive to Nairobi International Airport & spend the first night in the Nairobi Serena Hotel before starting out on your adventure. On arrival you will be met outside of the Customs Hall & transferred by private vehicle to the hotel. Nairobi is a bustling city with ample evidence of its past British colonial heritage. Dependant on the time of your arrival & subsequent check into to your hotel, the Botanical Gardens are world renown & well worthy of your taking a leisurely wander or the central markets offer many opportunities to purchase local art & crafts.

Day 2 & 3 - Amboseli National Park

This morning after breakfast you will check out & be transferred to the airport for a flight to Amboseli. On arrival you will be met & transferred to Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge, located in the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro. This will be your base for the next two nights.

The Lodge is located beside groves of giant acacia trees & a gently flowing natural spring. It is considered one of Africa’s finest moderately priced safari lodges offering excellent standard accommodation, each of the 96 Ivory class rooms having private en suite facilities & decorated in traditional African style conveying a distinctive Masai Manyatta mood.

The surrounding landscape habitat is heavily populated by plains game. Wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, baboon & the inevitable cast of predators who follow them ; lion, hyena, cheetah & leopard.

There is a floodlit waterhole, open air dining room that serves sumptuous meals & a full service bar that remains open until the last guests drift off to their quarters for a good nights rest. During the heat of the day, guests can enjoy a cooling dip in the pool & a small bar nearby provides refreshments at beck & call. Game drive activities are provided daily in specially designed safari vehicles, hosted by a professional local guide.

Day 4 & 5 - Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

Departing by road after breakfast, it is first to the International border crossing, then proceeding into Tanzania with our destination being the millions of years old Ngorongoro Crater. The journey today will take approx 6 hours including Immigration clearances so sit back, relax & enjoy the scenic drive which is likened to a game drive as we will pass through many areas of wild animal habitat.

The Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is built into the rim of the ancient crater, overlooking the enormity of the floor far below. The building is of stone construction which blends it into the surrounds & most all guest rooms have an uninterrupted view of the crater floor that abounds in animal, bird, reptile & insect species. Due to the prevailing cool climate, lounge & dining areas are indoors overlooking the crater. The Lodge is at 6000 feet above sea level & all areas are complimented by log fire places that greatly enhance the atmosphere.

Game drives are carried out daily with early morning departures & picnic lunches catered for. The plethora of animal & bird species that call Ngorongoro Crater their permanent home is enormous. Because of year round water supplies & varying eco system habitat, here you will find plains game alongside a recovering population of black rhino, elephant, giraffe, zebra, & a wide range of predators of which, the lion prides are especially active.

Day 6 & 7 - Serengeti National Park

Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast by road, today you head to the Serengeti National Park & Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge for two nights.
